A Look To The Future
Crystal and I are completely humbled by and grateful for this opportunity to serve at Parkside Christian Aademy in the upcoming school year. Through the 18 years of our marriage, God has given us a vision for educational achievement where young people are constantly exceeding what others might think they are capable of by God’s strength. We cannot be more excited to see this vision fully realized here at Parkside.

As we head into this new season, we are fully committed to the principles and values upon which Parkside was founded: Academic Excellence with Christian Values. We look forward to building upon the successes that have been started, and taking Parkside to the next level of growth spiritually, academically, and socially.

Your children are so precious to us as we know they are to you. And in having 5 boys of our own, 4 of which are at Parkside, we know that your stewardship over them is one of the most important jobs you have. We purpose in our hearts to make this transition as smooth as possible for the students, families and teachers. But we cannot do this alone. We need your help to understand your needs as we move into the next year, as well as your hopes and dreams for your child at Parkside. We will communicate more of the details to you in the near future, and value any feedback you may have. We have an open door policy where no question is off limits to ask. So please don’t hesitate to set up an appointment or drop in to talk more about the vision going forward. We look forward to getting to know all of you better over the years, as we journey together to build a community of learners who see the “Extraordinary” as “Ordinary.”

Michael Dixon and Crystal Dixon

Parkside Welcomes New Leadership
There are many connections between the Dixons and Parkside – the Dixon children have been students at Parkside for the past four years; Michael has taught Science at Parkside for the past three years; in 1999, Crystal “shadowed” Parkside’s Principal, Rev. Dr. Jossie Owens, as part of Crystal’s graduate studies in School Administration at Boston College; Michael is a long time friend and mentor of Paul’s son Greg, beginning with Michael’s days as Assistant School Minister at Brooks School; Crystal has been Parkside’s volunteer development person, writing Parkside’s grant requests for the past few years; and Michael, Crystal, Paul and myself have collaborated as Parkside’s Strategic Planning Committee for the past three years, helping Parkside improve its delivery of services, revamp the after school programs, and bring in much needed technology improvements.

While we prayed for someone to continue our tradition of excellence, God was moving on Michael’s and Crystal’s hearts to realize their 20+ year dream to start a school. God brought these two desires of the heart together in ways we could not have orchestrated on our own. With great enthusiasm and with my full support, I present them to you as gifted and passionate people who will continue Parkside’s mission of Academic Excellence with Christian Values.
