What does Second Grade Have to Offer?
The second grade curriculum includes:
Math: Adding, Subtraction, Sequence, Time, Graphing and Figures.
Social Studies: Neighborhood, Communities, States, Continents, and Native Americans.
Writing: Sentence structure, Letter Capitalization, Punctuation. We also cover Intro to verbs, nouns, synonoms, Homophones.
Phonics: Compound Words, Long and Short Vowels, Digraphs, Dipthongs, R-Controlled Words, Syllables.
Journal Writing: Every morning the students are encouraged to write in their journals.
Reading: Reading Comprehension, Letter sounds, Critical Thinking, Sequence.
